  • No pets, please. We love dogs, but find they don’t mix well with our plans to preserve our local flora and fauna. To fill the void, we host a family of tame kangaroos (who often come up to the bunkhouses to say hello – if you’re lucky!)

  • Devices with Telstra can be connected to the 4G available in the area.

  • As we are situated smack bang in the middle of the Jarrah Forest – we don’t have many neighbours! If you prefer a more secluded experience, our Currawong and Timbarra sites are located further away from our other accommodations.

  • All heating and cooling systems on site are provided by mother nature. We stay cool thanks to the afternoon breeze and a refreshing dip in the Murray River and stay warm thanks to roaring wood fires and artfully selected layering. Hot tip: Choose your season and plan accordingly.

  • Our Nanga Bush Camp is not part of Lane Poole Reserve. The reserve can be accessed via their entry station for a small fee. For help with directions, just ask!

COVID + SAFETY

  • Nanga Bush Camp is committed to ensuring a COVID’s safe environment. We are taking extra precautions to protect our managers, regional communities, and our guests. We use cleaning and disinfecting protocols to thoroughly clean our facilities after guests depart and before to the next guest’s arrival. Our COVID-19 safety management plan is continually being monitored and updated in line with the latest recommendations from the West Australian Government. While we will do everything we can to ensure a safe stay – please be mindful of your wellbeing. Do not travel if:

You have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days (until a negative test is received)

You are showing symptoms of COVID-19

You have been directly exposed to someone with COVID-19

You have visited a Government declared COVID-19 hotspot within the last 14 days.

  • If your booking with Nanga Bush Camp is impacted by COVID-related illness, or government mandates that prevent you from visiting – we will refund your booking. Please note: our regular terms and conditions apply for cancellations due to any other reason.

  • We certainly do, please reach out if you require a digital or printed copy before your arrival.

  • 100%. Please ask our staff upon arrival to share the plan with you and your fellow campers.

  • Yes please, these are essential items to pack. In case of emergency, we have limited supplies in the office – but prefer you to have your kits at each site.

  • Absolutely – sitting around a fire is one of the best parts of the camping experience! We provide you with firewood, fire starters, a small amount of kindling, and a lighter for your stay. Each bunkhouse and cottage has at least one indoor and outdoor fireplace. Please note that from December 1st- April 30th we have a TOTAL FIRE BAN at Nanga Bush Camp.

  • Fires must be strictly contained to the designated areas. We love our forest and in line with our safety policies, Nanga Bush Camp has a TOTAL FIRE BAN from December 1st - April 30th. We provide gas barbecues during this time.

  • Camping in the bush means bugs can’t be avoided. Don’t forget to pack your bug spray and protect your skin by covering it up. Please note: during the fire ban period – coils and citronella candles are strictly prohibited.

  • There is nothing more refreshing than a dip in the river! Lucky for us, The Shire of Waroona shire frequently tests the river, but we recommend avoiding putting your head under the water.

  • Yes! Our water is from a creek, is tested regularly, and is fine to drink.

WEDDING AND EVENTS

  • A site visit is the best way! We are happy to welcome you to our property to assist in selecting accommodation to best suit your needs. Site visits are available on most Sunday afternoons from 2.30 to 4 pm – except on long weekends. Please contact us to arrange an appointment.

  • Our tranquil bush environment offers many stages and settings that are perfect for hosting your wedding ceremony. Close to the Murray River is our most sought-after spot – but you need to book in advance as the banks of the river are public property. Alternatively, each of our sites has enough outdoor space to accommodate a ceremony surrounded by the beautiful Jarrah Forest. Again, a site visit is the best way to decide.

  • At Nanga Bush Camp – we are well and truly out in the elements. This means making friends with balmy days and winter sleet – part of the magic of being out in nature, we think! In case of showers and storms, our bunkhouses have large indoor areas that can cater to both ceremony and reception. Our Currawong site has a covered outdoor deck. We recommend checking out the local weather forecast to plan accordingly.

  • We recommend booking an additional cottage to get ready with your bridal party for optimal space and privacy.

  • We've known some super thrifty brides who have done it for less than $10k. We like to think of our Nanga Bush Camp as a blank canvas for all your DIY wedding dreams to come to life as you please, within your budget.

  • Our peaceful, remote location means we cannot order for 3rd party deliveries. An easy option available is to click and collect from Coles in Pinjarra – a 27-minute drive away. You can also access a small selection of groceries from the local IGA X-Press in Dwellingup.

  • There's plenty of space for parking available outside each of the bunkhouses. We request that you please be mindful when driving around the site. Due to dust and noise, please keep driving to an absolute minimum and respect our speed limit of 10km p/h.

  • Open flames outside – including candles in containers – are strictly prohibited. Contained candles are allowed indoors as long as all camp amenities and surfaces are protected.

  • We ask that amplified music be turned down at 11 pm to respect us and other guests. However, you are welcome to play gentle, ambient music as long as you like. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include any Johnny Farham solos!

  • The only confetti we allow is flower petals or leaves/organic matter. Sadly, even biodegradable glitter can damage our environment and stick around long after the wedding’s over.

SCHOOLS AND LARGE GROUPS

  • Yes, Nanga Bush Camp has current public liability insurance. Our certificate of currency is available upon request.

  • Absolutely. Our on-site managers will take you through our procedures with your camp leader when you arrive. Evacuation plans are prominently placed in all accommodation and copies are included in your group’s welcome kit.

  • Yes, we take the health and safety of our guests very seriously. Each of our onsite managers has up-to-date WWCs and accredited emergency first aid training.

  • We recommend the school and large group visitors hire a bus to transport their entire camp to the site. If you need a recommendation from us on who to contact, just reach out!

  • While we don’t personally offer catering, we are more than happy to recommend catering companies that can operate on the premises and who cater to special dietary needs.

  • Not personally, but are more than happy to assist you in seeking an accredited adventure group or company to help you run your activities – just ask!
