RAFT BUILDING
RAFT BUILDING
ACTIVITYWorking in teams, participants are handed the raw materials, barrels, timber and rope, and a set time frame to plan, design and build their own raft from scratch. It's a hands-on test of creative thinking and problem solving, with the finished raft put straight to work in the river challenge that follows. The outcome is only as good as the imagination behind it, and always a lot of fun.
Duration: Allow 1.5 to 2 hours
Please refer to our safety & instructions tab below for age, height & weight requirements.

Every raft that hits the water started as a pile of barrels, timber and rope, and a team with a plan.
Teams provided with barrels, timber and rope to design and build a raft that can remain floating whilst holding up the team.
A set time frame to plan, build and problem solve together.
Finished rafts are put to the test in the river challenge.
Real room for creativity, no two rafts turn out the same.
Followed by fun water team activities to bond everyone together.
Some rafts float better than others, but every team leaves with a story.
-
Building on land is one thing, getting it on the water is another, and that's where the team steps in.
Helmets, closed in shoes & flotation devices must be worn at all times both in and around the water.
Instructor supervision throughout the whole activity.
All water safety guidelines are stickly followed.
-
A few practical things before the day.
Raft building is weather conditional and often a spring & summer time activity.
Firm safety briefings will occur before the commencement of any water based activities.
Closed in shoe are a MUST.
